What we keep, and what we don't.

From Plane with Love works offline, in airplane mode. Your flights, your flight log, your location and your photos stay on your device. We have no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The only things our server ever stores are the two technical values described under “What our server stores”, and neither identifies you.
Who is responsible
The controller of any data described here is Alkım Barış Ünal (NickDegs / RealVirtuality), Türkiye. You can reach us at daclen100@gmail.com for any question or request about this policy.
Stays on your device
- Location. GPS is used to show your position in flight and to notice that you are at an airport. All processing happens on your device; your coordinates are never sent to us.
- Motion and barometer. Used on device to detect takeoff and landing.
- Camera. Only while you scan a boarding pass; the barcode is read on device and no image is stored or transmitted.
- Flight log, notes, photos and films. Stored on your device, and — if you use iCloud — in your own iCloud account, which we cannot read.
What our server stores
Before a flight the app downloads schedules, routes and offline map packages from our server. Those requests carry no location, no name and no account. Our server keeps only:
- An app-integrity record. To stop abuse of a service we give away for free, the app proves with Apple's App Attest that it is a genuine, unmodified copy from the App Store. We store the resulting key identifier and public key, a counter, the attestation receipt, whether the build is a production or development one, and a random installation identifier that your own iCloud account carries to a new phone. None of these contain your name, e-mail, Apple ID or location, and we do not combine them with anything else.
- A purchase record. If you buy Pro, Apple's signed receipt is checked and we store the transaction identifier, the product identifier, the purchase date and whether it was refunded, so the purchase can be honoured and a refund respected. It contains no payment details — we never see them.
- Short-lived technical logs. Our hosting provider processes the usual request data (including the IP address your connection uses) to deliver and protect the service. We keep diagnostic logs for a few days. They contain no location and no flight data.
Why we may do this, legally
Storing the integrity record rests on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and fraud (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 Art. 5(2)(f)). Storing the purchase record is necessary to provide what you bought (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). If a value described above counts as personal data in your country, this is the basis on which we process it.
How long we keep it
- Integrity record: while the installation exists. Deleting the app makes the key unusable; write to us and we will delete the record.
- Purchase record: as long as needed to honour a lifetime purchase, since it is what lets you restore Pro.
- Diagnostic logs: a few days.
Who else sees it
Our service runs on Cloudflare (edge network, storage and database), which processes the data on our behalf as our provider and whose servers are spread around the world. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking provider, and we sell or share nothing with anyone.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about your installation, ask for it to be deleted, object to our processing, or ask for a copy — write to daclen100@gmail.com. Because there are no accounts, please write from the device in question or include the purchase identifier so we can find the record. You may also complain to your data protection authority (in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority — KVKK).
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects nothing about anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date.
