Klipy turns your long videos into short vertical clips. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and how long it is kept. It is written to be read, not to hide things.
Who is responsible
Klipy is operated by its developer, based in Türkiye. For any question about this policy or your data, write to privacy@nickdegs.com.
What we collect

We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers. Klipy contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
What we do not do
- We do not perform face recognition. Faces may be detected so that a vertical crop can follow the speaker, but no face template or embedding is created, stored, or used to identify anyone.
- We do not identify speakers by voice.
- We do not use your videos, audio or transcripts to train our own machine-learning models, and we do not sell or license them to anyone for training.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who processes your data with us

Cloudflare and Modal act on our instructions. Speech recognition runs inside our own processing containers; your audio is not sent to a third-party transcription service. Moment selection and cutting run in our own containers with no AI service involved. The one exception is post text: when you ask for a clip's title, description and tags, only that clip's transcript text is sent to a language model running on Cloudflare Workers AI. Cloudflare is the processor listed above and your data is not used to train models. This feature is off by default: the app asks for your consent the first time, and if you decline the text is written on your device and nothing is sent. You can change the choice in Settings.
Content you upload
You are responsible for the videos you upload: you confirm you own them or have the right to use them. If a video contains other people, you are responsible for having their consent where the law requires it. If you believe content in Klipy infringes your rights, write to dmca@nickdegs.com and we will review and remove it where appropriate.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deleting your data inside the app removes your clips and your anonymous identifier; requests sent to privacy@nickdegs.com are answered within 30 days. If you are in Türkiye, KVKK (Law 6698) applies and you may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority. If you are in the EEA or UK, GDPR applies and you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
Legal basis for processing
We process your video, audio and transcript because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract — KVKK Art. 5/2(c), GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Quota and purchase records are processed on the same basis and, where applicable, to comply with legal obligations.
Children
Klipy is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Security
Data is transferred over encrypted connections. Files are addressed by single-use, expiring links; one user's videos and clips are never readable by another user. If a breach occurs that puts your rights at risk, we notify the relevant authority within 72 hours and inform you where required.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version is published here with a new date. Continuing to use Klipy after that means you accept the updated policy.
